Description:

The prestigious Amos Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Peter Gregory FBS, FRASE, Chief Executive of East Malling Research.

This biannual Lecture concludes EMR’s centenary celebrations. Its topic comes full circle to EMR’s beginnings, by reusing the title of a speech given by Dr Dunstan, then Principal of Wye College, to persuade a group of growers at Maidstone Town Hall in 1912, of the benefits of a fruit research centre in Kent.

Prof. Gregory will focus on how innovations deriving from today’s scientific R&D will benefit the next generation of growers, helping them to increase production profitably and sustainably, while facing the challenges of a more variable and changing climate.
