Benjamin Langendorf receives the David Millar travel award

EMR’s Benjamin Langendorf has been awarded the David Millar Award for his work on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.

As part of the award, Benjamin will receive travel funds, a year’s student membership of SCI and three years’ Friends Membership of the Eden Project.

Benjamin is a PhD student, registered at the University of York, and his PhD is researching the pre-colonisation of strawberry planting materials with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi to improve transplant growth and tolerance to soil-borne pathogens.

This annual award is organised by SCI and sponsored by Vitacress and the Eden Project and  aims to give two young plant scientists or horticulturists the opportunity of overseas travel in connection with their horticultural careers.
